Permanent Teachers Training

Description:
 

It is a continuous training course, aimed at updating and improving basic education teachers (initial, primary and secondary) and therefore aimed at teachers and education professionals in all subsystems of the education system and other Formative spaces. These are modular units, which will be offered continuously, in Montevideo, the Interior and at a regional level, via the Platform of Virtual Learning Space. It leads to a Certificate - not a university. It aims to take advantage of and optimize the presence in the plant of teachers of high level researchers to contribute to the ongoing training of teachers.

Dicted by high-level teachers from the country and the region, it aims to become a lifelong learning space, It consists of classroom and supervised activities, which reach 120 hours, organized in short units, supported by readings and resources located in the Virtual Learning Space. It is a continuous training course.

Fundaments:

The course aims to be an instance of training and training of teachers, teachers, managers and education professionals, through the encounter, reflection, research, debate, self-evaluation, reconstruction of own learning and Recovery of a critical view on the practices themselves and on the educational reality in general.

Topics such as future teaching competencies, education in new social and cultural contexts, culture of institutions and organization in teaching work, mediation of information and communication technologies and the need for new theoretical approaches linked to Experience of teachers are emerging issues, which challenge us to rethink and reformulate our knowledge.

Course Objectives

  1. Generate a space for reflection, debate and deepening on education and the challenges of the teaching role.

  2. Contribute to improving teaching practices, with a view to a necessary reconstitution of the link with learning and the diversity of needs of children and young people.

  3. Develop a teaching portfolio and final works that constitute different approaches to the challenges of teaching, and the construction of learning.

  • Qualified teachers, graduates of teacher training institutes.

  • Inspectors, directors and administrators of the education system.

  • Professionals of Education.

  • Guild leaders and members of technical bodies.

  • Advanced students of teacher education.

Organization and attended.

The attendance regime of the students will be on Fridays and Saturdays, on biweekly frequencies, in the schedules of:

Friday: 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Saturdays: 08:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Time load and total duration - attended and supervised: 240 hours - 10 months.

Content Modules:

FE - Fundamentals of Education. Curricular space in which to seek to elaborate a synthesis of the anthropological, biological, psychological, sociological, economic, political and philosophical foundations of education, critically reconstructing the theory of education

 

FP - Teacher Training and Education. The training of teachers is analyzed as a key aspect of the quality of education, reflecting on the challenges introduced by social and educational transformations, new teaching practice conditions, teaching theory, and the contribution of teachers to Quality learning.

 

NPCE - The curriculum is a social and educational construction, which needs to be rethought in the perspective of the learning and the culture of the subjects involved, including the educational institution. The aim is to review curriculum and assessment issues in relation to new requirements, conceptualizing topics such as competency-based training.

 

IEA - Educational institutions are not just physical spaces, buildings and sets of social roles. They are also the fundamental pedagogical means in which learning is built. The research is convergent in pointing out the contributions of the good educational institution to the quality educational processes. It is about deepening the ways in which some institutions become organizations capable of learning and generating learning.

 

TE - Technology, computer tools and virtual resources are challenging teaching practices and creating new cultures and work perspectives. The discipline provides inputs to think about the relationship between technology and learning from reflection mediated by practice.

 

EC - Personalized, face-to-face or supervised academic activities selected by the participant in dialogue with the Coordinator and seeking to give greater flexibility and relevance to the Diploma program.

 

TTF- Support workshop in the production of the final work and Final Colloquium.

 

Methodology

The methodology involves the active participation of the students, integrating teachers' expositions, debates, colloquiums, case studies, pedagogical practices, and the elaboration of a portfolio.

It provides credits for the Specialization and Masters in Education to those teachers who at the time of taking the Diploma are eligible to enroll in the Master's Degree.

 

Evaluation

The evaluation will be done attributing 30% to the presence of not less than 75% of the classes; 40% to participation during the course; 30% to a final integrator job.

 

Certification

At the conclusion of the course, the participants will access a Diploma of Teaching Development, with specification of the competences built.

The International Program on Íbero-American Language and Culture

Introduction

 

The International Program on Íbero-American Language and Culture is one of the main international programs in the strategic plan of the South-South University Institute -IUSUR-, designed for South-South cooperation with sub-Saharan African nations.

 

The Program It has four main components: Spanish Language and Iberian Culture; Portuguese Language and Luso-American Culture.

 

In this first stage only the first two components are available: Spanish Language and Iberic Culture

 

The Spanish language is the mother tongue of over four hundred million people, in more than twenty countries and on five continents. It will be one of the first three languages ​​of the 21st century, along with English and Mandarin Chinese. And the second language of international communication.

 

The Global South University Institute offers an International Training Program at various levels within the framework of the Spanish Language and Ibero-American Culture component.

 

This program is organized at three levels:

 

Introductory Workshop on Communication in Spanish -30 hours.

Starts on July 11, 2017

 

A course of initiation to the bases of oral and written communication in Spanish in everyday social contexts. It allows basic functional performance and more ambitious levels.

 

Course of Introduction to Spanish Language (IELE) (120 hours).

Starts on July 11, 2017

 

An introductory level of training, aimed to offer key communicative competences to Anglo, French and Afro-speaking users: students and university teachers, businessmen, public officials or private companies.

It leads to a Certificate and proposes to offer the bases for the use of the language in a basic level, social and of business. Duration: one quarter.

 

Diploma of Specialization in Teacher Training in Spanish Foreign Language (DELE) (360 hours).

Starts on July 11, 2017

 

It aims at the introduction to the teaching of Spanish for teachers with a vehicular management of the language. It is a program that accumulates credits and will be articulated with a future Master's Degree in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language.

 

Duration: 1 year.

The Diploma will only be available from 2018.

The programs mentioned above and the first two levels of the component Spanish Language and Ibero-American Culture are available.

 

Access requirements.

Have completed at least pre-university studies (High School) or be enrolled in Higher education studies, or to have equivalent skills.

 

General Objectives of the Component

Contribute to a critical, holistic and integral learning of the Spanish language as a foreign language

Understand the cultural framework and dimensions of the Spanish language, especially in Latin America, and in the Rio de la Plata region.

Promote the training and development of professional skills and language skills of teachers.

 

Specific objectives

 

To contribute to the formation of people with communicative competences in Spanish, capable of appreciating and interacting with the Ibero-American and South American cultures.

Provide elements of training of teachers of Spanish foreign language with ability to manage their own continuous academic and professional development.

Appropriate of updated methodology regarding the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language.

To train a competent teacher from the didactic and pedagogical point of view.

 

In addition, through agreements of cooperation and partnership with Foreign institutions, in accordance with the normative frameworks in force in the various countries, the South American University Institute designs tailor-made programs designed to meet the specific demands of specific individuals or groups.
